The 8-Layer Architecture and 5-Phase Approach
Autonix deploys its product suite as a single architecture, spanning eight interdependent layers, in five phases that follow logical dependencies rather than an arbitrary schedule.
Architecture
Eight layers, sensors to financials
Each layer consumes data from the layer below it and produces data for the layer above it. No layer functions in isolation.
| Layer | Systems | Function |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Enterprise Core |
Autonix Core (ERP) | Order management, production scheduling, inventory, cost accounting, regrind genealogy, supplier procurement |
| 2 Shop Floor Execution |
Autonix Execute (MES) | Work order dispatch, automated recipe push to machines, cycle tracking, OEE, actuals reporting to ERP |
| 3 Automation & Control |
Autonix Pulse (SCADA/IIoT) | Real-time floor visibility, sensor data ingestion, time-series data lake, edge buffering |
| 4 Quality & Compliance |
Autonix Quality (QMS) | ISO 9001:2015 documentation, NCR/CAPA, SPC, supplier quality, audit trail |
| 5 Intelligence & Optimization |
Autonix Pulse (AI extensions), Autonix Insight (BI) | Predictive maintenance, AI visual inspection, digital twin simulation, management dashboards |
| 6 Product & Supply Chain |
Autonix Design (PLM), Autonix Stock (WMS), Autonix Supply (SCM) | Mold/design version control, parameter profile management, recipe push, warehouse traceability, procurement automation |
| 7 Energy & Sustainability |
Autonix Energy (EMS), Autonix Sustain (ESG) | Machine-level sub-metering, energy waste identification, Scope 1/2/3 carbon reporting, recycled-content traceability |
| 8 Infrastructure & Security |
IT/OT network, edge servers, identity | OT network segmentation, factory-floor DMZ, passive traffic monitoring, unified identity management |
Implementation
Five phases, each a foundation for the next
BI dashboards are worthless without data from MES and ERP. Predictive maintenance cannot be accurate without months of sensor history. Every phase below builds the foundation the next phase depends on — and delivers concrete operational value on its own before the next begins.

1
Before the first production run
Protect & See
The factory floor network is fully isolated from corporate IT before anything else is connected, with all cloud traffic routed through a controlled, monitored DMZ. Autonix Pulse connects to every machine via OPC-UA and begins collecting machine state, alarms, sensor readings, and energy draw from the moment it goes live, buffered on ruggedized edge servers that keep production running through a cloud outage. This phase has no dependency on any other Autonix product — it goes live as soon as machines are installed.

2
Business under control
Run
Autonix Core records every order, generates the production schedule, tracks inventory, calculates batch cost, and manages supplier purchase orders — monitoring stock in real time and raising purchase orders before shortage thresholds are reached. Autonix Execute translates schedules into machine-level action, pushing production parameters directly to machine controllers and eliminating manual, error-prone parameter entry at every shift change.
-
3
Quality credentials, visibility, efficiency
Measure
Autonix Quality manages every process required for ISO 9001:2015 certification and automatically opens non-conformance records when production deviates beyond acceptable limits. Autonix Pulse extends into full IIoT data collection across all machines and utilities, building the sensor history Phase 4 depends on. Autonix Energy sub-meters every major circuit to identify waste. Autonix Stock completes the material traceability chain. Autonix Insight consolidates every product's data into near-real-time management dashboards.
-
4
Machine intelligence and automated quality
Optimize
Predictive maintenance models activate on the sensor baseline accumulated since Phase 3, learning normal operating signatures and detecting early signs of wear weeks before failure. AI visual inspection scores every unit against a defect library and logs results to Autonix Quality with image evidence. Digital twin simulation lets engineers optimize process parameters virtually before physical trials. Autonix Design becomes the authoritative, version-controlled repository for designs and process profiles, with approved changes flowing automatically to the shop floor.

5
Multi-market commercial and sustainability infrastructure
Scale
Autonix Supply automates procurement at scale, reading inventory from Stock and forecasts from Core to trigger purchase orders before reorder thresholds. Autonix Connect structures the commercial side of the business as customer relationships expand across markets. Autonix Sustain draws data from Energy, Core, Stock, and Supply to produce Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon footprint reports and recycled-content traceability documentation for buyers with sustainability requirements.
